Workshops / Cooking

We plan to have workshops/cooking sessions Tuesday - Saturday (Monday and Sunday are for arriving, setting up, settling in and departing)

This is a Moot based on cooking and related skills and crafts in the outdoors. It covers a variety of preparation and cooking skills, from butchering to pancakes and roasts to sponge cakes.

You can be as involved as you want to be; there’s no pressure, and you can relax or knead bread, go for a walk or carve a spoon.

If you have a specific skill, craft or cooking interest, let us know so that we can try to include it in the programme.

Food

As this is an outdoor cooking event everyone that has a ticket to attend will get to share in what’s produced in the cooking workshops that you’re involved in, it will generally be a taster of what’s produced. It all depends on what is being made, how much and how many people are involved.

The focus of the event is to enjoy and learn cooking skills in the outdoors.

Please note that this is a self-catering event with some food produced during workshops. You will need to make sure that you have your own food for your needs*.

*Breakfasts and Evening meals can be provided as a paid extra, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, each day there will be an opportunity to sign up to whatever meal is available the next morning and evening.

£5 Breakfast
£8 Evening - Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Please make sure that you have enough food and cooking equipment for your personal needs; there are shops a short drive away if needed.

If you have any questions, please ask away CONTACT

Fires & Firewood

Fires are allowed on site but need to be raised off of the ground. Please bring your own fire pit/bowl/raised fire platform with you if you intend on having your own fire.

Firewood will be provided for the workshops, feel free to bring your own if you want a fire in your camp. Alternatively firewood can be pre-purchased by arrangement with us.

No firewood can be foraged from the woodland as it is an SSSI registered site.

Parking & kit

There is plenty of parking and the camping area isn’t far from the parking area, we will provide a trolly for moving kit from car to pitch.

Facilities & Camping

There are plenty of toilets and showers on site.
You can tent, tarp or hammock, there are plenty of clear areas and trees.
If you want to sleep in a camper or caravan, please contact us for availability.
